partnerships, 27.04.2017 – 10.06.2017
Vernissage 26.04.2017, MoCA Beijing

This international group exhibition, entitled partnerships exhibits the works of more than 30 artists from over seven countries and forms a part of a whole and represents an interactive relationship between cultures. The artworks provide an insight into contemporary, current art. Paintings (in various techniques), drawings, graphics, calligraphies, collages, photographs, sculptures, reflect the cultural differences or even similarities. In addition, the works show the individual views of the individual artists from various cultural circles.

By unifying international artists positions and bringing them to an intercultural dialogue, the exhibition “partnerships” aims to create a link between nations through art. The variety of exhibits by Western and Asian artists describes the ability to maintain a clear position while remaining in a complex interplay. These are activities that have evolved based on perception and experience.

Partnerships is a synonym for tolerance and cohesion. The selected artworks testify to the sensibility, subtlety and leniency of the artists who show their own perception of the world in this exhibition and leave a lasting impression. Their works of art have their claims expressed to the world and compete with other strong perspectives of reality. Some conquer the space and some withdraw elegantly. Some want to be placed on a pedestal while others require a dark environment to protect their surface from the light. Some are preferred to perform in groups or as soloists. Some exhibits communicate with the viewers when piano notes accompany them. No matter how but all the selected works are interrelated and form a (new) whole.

A partnership is, after all, a pendulum between reason and passion, emancipation and headwind, trust and anatomy. It is also a chance to make visible lines of international art development across the borders.

The exhibition opens on April 26 at 16:00 Oclock at the MoCA Museum Beijing. After an introduction, the VIP guests will have an exclusive evening with a piano concerto by the Russian pianist Nina Aristova who musically embraces the works of Werkstatt Atmani.
