Weiz, Austria — This spring, Kunsthaus Weiz opens its doors to Muses of Modernity – Women Artists Inspiring Change, an international group exhibition bringing together twelve contemporary female artists from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Running from April 17 to June 6, 2026, the exhibition explores the evolving role of women in contemporary art through painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

Curated by Dr. Davood Khazaie (Pashmin Art Consortia) and Georg Gratzer (Kunsthaus Weiz), the exhibition creates a dynamic dialogue between cultures, identities, and artistic perspectives. The featured works move between abstraction and realism, personal memory and collective experience, spirituality and social reflection, revealing the diversity and complexity of contemporary female artistic voices.
The opening evening on April 16 welcomed an international audience of artists, collectors, curators, and cultural representatives. Speeches by Georg Gratzer, Hermann Mauritsch, and Dr. Davood Khazaie emphasized the importance of intercultural exchange and the growing visibility of women artists within the global contemporary art landscape. Musical accompaniment by LANEVA completed the atmosphere of the evening.
