Christine Halloff is a Swedish artist whose abstract practice explores the relationship between natural processes, scientific structures, and organic movement. Inspired by geological formations, biological systems, and the changing qualities of water, she creates works that balance control with spontaneity.
Watercolor is central to Halloff’s artistic language. By combining water, pigments, paper, and materials such as stones, wool, and thread, she allows unexpected patterns to emerge during the creative process. These natural structures often guide the final composition.
Her work has gradually developed from figurative toward abstract expression, while maintaining a strong interest in rhythm, transformation, and visual harmony. Alongside watercolor, she also works with pastels, inks, acrylics, cyanotypes, collagraphy, and monoprint.
Halloff sees art as a dialogue with the viewer and creates open compositions that encourage personal interpretation, reflection, and discovery.
