Irina Jomir (geb. 1983, Chișinău, Moldau) ist eine international ausgezeichnete Fine-Art-Fotografin mit Wohnsitz in Norwegen. Im Zentrum ihrer Arbeit steht die Erforschung menschlicher Emotionen und ihrer Wirkung auf Individuen und Gesellschaft, insbesondere die psychologischen und inneren Landschaften des weiblichen Bewusstseins.
Jomir arbeitet überwiegend mit inszenierter Fotografie und kombiniert digitale Collage sowie digitale Malerei, um symbolisch vielschichtige und psychologisch aufgeladene Bildwelten zu schaffen. Ihre Werke entstehen aus sorgfältig entwickelten Konzepten, Skizzen, gestalteten Szenen und präzise eingesetztem Licht, das die emotionale Atmosphäre der Bilder bestimmt.
Ihre Fotografie versteht sich als visuelle Stimme für Emotionen. Anstatt eine eindeutige Interpretation vorzugeben, lädt sie Betrachterinnen und Betrachter dazu ein, sich mit den komplexen Gefühlen und inneren Zuständen ihrer Figuren auseinanderzusetzen.
Ihr Hauptwerkzyklus The Pact of Silence untersucht Themen wie Geheimnis, Opfer und Identität aus einer weiblichen Perspektive. Innerhalb dieser Serie bildet The Destiny Cycle ein symbolisches Triptychon über Transformation, Wachsamkeit und innere Erneuerung.
Ihre Arbeiten wurden international ausgestellt, unter anderem bei der Chianciano Biennale (Italien), im House of Lucie (Budapest und Athen), im INSA Art Center (Seoul), in der Decode Gallery (USA) sowie in der Golden Duck Gallery (Ungarn). Weitere Ausstellungen sind in der FotoNostrum Gallery in Barcelona, im Kunsthaus Weiz in Österreich sowie im CICA Museum in Südkorea geplant.
Ihr Werk Destiny – The Shaping of Fate befindet sich in der ständigen Sammlung des Museo d’Arte di Chianciano Terme, während Arbeiten wie Non Dicam, Quid Pro Quo und Non Dicas Teil der Sammlung des Museums für Avantgarde in Mendrisio (Schweiz) sind. Das Bild Poppyseed Dancer wurde zudem im Magazin Forbes im Zusammenhang mit den Siena Creative Photo Awards vorgestellt.
Zu ihren wichtigsten internationalen Auszeichnungen zählen Photographer of the Year bei den Budapest International Foto Awards (2023), 1. Platz Fotografie & Printmaking beim Women United Art Prize (2024), Gesamtsiegerin der Julia Margaret Cameron Awards sowie Finalistin beim Luxembourg Art Prize.

Irina Jomir (b. 1983, Chișinău, Moldova) is an internationally awarded fine art photographer based in Norway. Her work centers on the exploration of human emotions and their influence on individuals and society, with a particular focus on the inner life and psychological landscapes of women.
Working primarily with staged photography, Jomir combines digital collage and digital painting to create symbolically layered and psychologically charged compositions. Her images often begin with carefully developed concepts, sketches, styled sets, and meticulously designed lighting that shape the emotional atmosphere of each work.
Her artistic practice seeks to give a visual voice to emotions rather than imposing interpretation. Through light, composition, and atmosphere, she creates contemplative images that invite viewers to reflect on the complexity of human feelings and the subtle forces that shape our perception of reality.
Jomir’s principal body of work, The Pact of Silence, explores themes of secrecy, sacrifice, and identity through a feminine lens. Within this series, The Destiny Cycle presents a symbolic triptych reflecting transformation, vigilance, and inner rebirth.
Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions such as the Chianciano Biennale (Italy), House of Lucie (Budapest and Athens), INSA Art Center (Seoul), Decode Gallery (USA), and Golden Duck Gallery (Hungary), with upcoming exhibitions at FotoNostrum Gallery (Barcelona), Weiz Kunsthaus (Austria), and CICA Museum (South Korea).
Jomir’s photograph Destiny – The Shaping of Fate is part of the permanent collection of the Museo d’Arte di Chianciano Terme, while works such as Non Dicam, Quid Pro Quo, and Non Dicas belong to the permanent collection of the Museum of Avant-garde in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Her work Poppyseed Dancer was featured in Forbes in connection with the Siena Creative Photo Awards.
