Tensions and Transitions: Navigating the Boundaries of Being is a group exhibition at the Rothko Museum (05.12.2025–08.02.2026), curated by Tatjana Cernova and Nour Nouri.
Bringing together works by Zhang Dawo, Peter Backhaus, Horst Wagner, Fant Wenger, Reinhard Hanke, Holger Dempwolff, Sonia Parchet, and Anna van den Hövel, the exhibition examines moments of emotional, psychological, and spiritual transformation in a rapidly changing world.
Through abstraction, expressionism, and spiritual imagery, the artists explore the tension between personal identity and collective experience, confronting themes such as alienation, meaning, and the search for connection.
